CRIMINAL LAW
is the prosecution by the government of a person who has been accused of an act that under the penal code is classified as a crime. Crimes can be classified as felonies which are serious offenses, or misdemeanors such as petty theft.

DUI/DWI: Those charged with Driving Under the Influence or Driving While Intoxicated (DUI/DWI) are prosecuted both criminally and administratively. The accused must face a judge in criminal court along with a hearing officer from the Department of Motor Vehicles. This administrative per se hearing determines the suspension of the driver’s license. Being charged with a DUI/DWI can be a frightening experience. You need an attorney who knows and understands Connecticut DUI/DWI law to help you defend the criminal charges, obtain a work permit, and deal with the suspension of the license.

These crimes include: Sexual Assault, Assault, Domestic Violence, Murder, Robbery, Burglary and Home Invasion.
